REFAROM SAlocated in Brasov was founded in May 1991, as a strategy company in the field of refractory products.It was a state owned company between 1991-1994,privatisation being effected at the end of 1994.  

The main activities which assured financing sources for the company were :

·      Import and distribution of materials for metallurgy

       (graphite crucibles,heating elements,ceramic fibres etc.)

·      Internal sales business

·      Import of raw materials,export of refractory materials

·      Abrasive materials’ sales

Due to investment programms from 1997-1998,near Brasov in Cristian was built a workshop which has as main activity : warehousing,sorting and graining reusable refractory materials(refractory bricks,grinding wheels,silicon carbide etc.)  Thus the first tons of castable compounds and mortars are made on the newly assembled technological line, through crushing,grinding and sorting to different grain sizes, the reusable refractory materials. In 2006 ,it starts the production of silica-alumina refractory bricks,through buying  a workshop placed on the industrial platform of the former refractory products’ factory from Brasov,where  our company resides. The company’s leadership successively changed through retirement in 2008 and 2010.

The collaboration with VESUVIUS Germany, from which we purchase graphite crucibles and different materials for ferrous and non-ferrous foundries,started in 1991. Nowadays after the acquisition by VESUVIUS of the FOSECO company,REFAROM became agent of this company on the Romanian market. Starting with 2011,due to demands of the market,our company made major investments as the purchase of 2 furnaces FORNOCERAMICA  and the purchase of a hydraulic press BUCHER type,and of a special press with high columns etc.These investments were made inside the technological line ,for increasing and diversification of the existing products’ pallet.
